Dafco KZN is at work on this Umhlanga property carrying out structural crack repairs and sealing. As well as a fresh coat of paint. The property suffered from continual cracking at the joint of the roof slab and the parapets. This is due to the lack of adequate expansion joints, the 2 materials expand and contract at different rates due to their composition. If the problem is not addressed the problem would persist.
Cutting expansion joints for crack repairs.
Our well-trained team went about cutting in an expansion joint and sealing with a Polyurethane based sealant. This will stop future damage and the resulting unsightly cracks.
Once we completed the expansion lines we turned our attention to the multiple structural crack repairs needed which were then sealed and primed ready for paint. All windows received a sealing bead of Den Braven Polyurethane sealant to ensure no seeping or water damage. Finally we fiber reinforced the gable ends to protect them from the elements.
Once all repairs were completed a fresh coat of paint was applied to complete this beautiful Umhlanga home and leave her ready to face the elements again.
