Dafco Durban have been awarded yet another High-Rise Residential Block to paint this time we will be working on the KZN North Coast.

The peaceful Stralitzia Flats that we have been awarded the painting and spalliing repair work on will be a mix of facebrick, plaster work and metal.

To kick it off we start with our meticulous prep of all the surfaces by hydro blasting the walls then utelising the tried and tested ABE Spalling repair kit, removing plaster and concrete to bare the rebar supports and then grinding back and chemically treating the metal followed by replacing cement and plaster. On the window reveals and slab joints we will be sealing with the Den Braven Hybriflex 540 an excelent joint sealer.

The window surrounds we will be painted with an Excelsior polyurethane coating.

We wil also be repointing the brickwork (replacing loose or void mortar joints) before coating the entire facebrick surface with Dafco’s excellent in-house manufactured BrickShield, The plaster work will then be primed with an alkaline resistant primer and then properly sealed with two coats of Dafco’s SABS Approved Weather Shield.
